Feel free to shoot questions as well.

I was recently asked to do a staging consult for the owners of a beautiful home in the Saybrook development in Woodinville. Curb appeal, in my opinion, would rate a 9 out of 10 and the neighborhood is amazing. The views are spectacular!

When I walked in the front door my first impression was that this family could probably list the house today and do okay. However, is that what the goal should be? I don't think so.

This is a photo of one of the rooms in the home.
It definitely looks nice, clean well put together.

Right?
So what would you do?
Anything?

Stay tuned... I'll share what I recommended.

Viewpoint

It is an amazing opportunity each time I am asked to come into someone's home for a staging consult or work alongside a family to decorate. Opinions are a dime a dozen, and I am so honored to be asked and so appreciate the chance to do what I absolutely love.

It is important for me to communicate with my clients that recommendations I make are based on years of effective practices, real estate trends and information received from home buyers. From the time I drive into the neighborhood until I can no longer see the house in the rear view mirror, I am viewing the home from the perspective of a potential buyer/owner. I suggest that the home owner do the same... try to look at your home as if you were the one buying it.

Downtown Bellevue Penthouse Condo

Before

After

When I decided to sell my condo after four comfortable years I first removed clutter and personal effects, but my place still did not show to best advantage. I engaged Tim Foley to make the rooms fresh and enticing, while I continued to live in them, so they had to be functional as well and make use of what I already had.

Tim designed a series of interconnected vignettes that welcomed viewers and simultaneously made me feel at home. Tim is easy to work with and listens well, incorporating my preferences into his design. The results are extraordinary, as you may see from before and after pictures. My home looks both sophisticated and inviting, the exact impression I wished to achieve.

It is easy for me to recommend Tim Foley. He has an exceptionally fine eye for design and detail and works hard to make his clients happy. If new items are to be added to enhance results, Tim is well informed regarding local stores so that lovely pieces can be acquired inexpensively. His own rates are very reasonable, and the results are superlative. I recommend him without any hesitation.

Condo in Redmond

I completed a staging consult and assisted Bob in selecting furniture and accessories for preparing his home for sale. I really enjoyed working on this project and am quite pleased with the results.

Bob's letter to me...

I’m very pleased to recommend Tim Foley for home staging. When I recently decided to list my home for sale, my agent referred me to Tim. During the initial consultation (which was very reasonably priced) I found Tim to be insightful and likeable, so I decided to go ahead and enlist his services to stage the home.

I am very glad I did. The project went smoothly and was completed quickly. Tim was willing to work around my schedule, including evenings and the weekend. I found Tim to be an excellent communicator; he always shared his thoughts and I actually learned a few things in the process. At the same time, Tim was able to work within my budget and adapt to my tastes. The experience was nothing but positive.

But most importantly, Tim has great skills – the end result was fantastic! I received an offer after the first open house. And I heard many comments from agents, family, friends and even my neighbors on how well staged the home was.

For all these reasons I highly recommend Tim Foley for any home staging project.

Partnership with realtors

For the past year, I have been developing partnerships with various real estate companies and agents to stage homes for sale. This week, I met with Shannon and one of her clients who is beginning the process of getting her wonderful Woodinville home ready to list and ultimately sell.

I met with the client Friday morning and provided written recommendations later that evening.
Tonight I received the following comments in an email...

Thank you for being so timely and so detailed with this report. It is excellent and truly reflects spot-on suggestions and clear explanations for the homeowner and me. Watching you work in person and reading the report, it is evident that you have a very good eye for the spaces, color, layout and flow. After you left, I suggested more than once that Mary utilize your services beyond this consultation to the full extent that you offer! She indicated that she would like to have you back to actually do some of the work with her, so I hope that that happens. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes awhile for her to call you as she is feeling the full scope of the task ahead of her.
I will also pass along to our brokers that you are awesome to work with, truly professional and that our company NEEDS to send some business your way! Trust me, if I had 30 listings, I'd be having you consult/stage every single one!! Just waiting for the 30 listings. ;-) Have a great remainder of your weekend, and thank you so much again!

Staging for Janet

Off of a referral from a mutual friend, Janet contacted me and asked if I would meet with her for an initial consultation so that she could get an idea of what types of changes would be recommended in order to sell her incredible condo in Bellevue, WA.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Janet for a couple weeks -- staging for sale (while also planning for her next place).
